Gender-Affirming Care: Surgical Readiness & Aftercare

This free course is for health professionals who want to provide gender-affirming care in relation to surgical interventions. This course is primarily intended for primary care providers (physicians, residents, and nurse practitioners) who can fill or complete surgery coverage applications and provide post-operative care, but all healthcare professionals are welcome to take the course to learn more about gender-affirming care.

Prescribing Gender-Affirming Hormones

This course is for healthcare providers who wish to prescribe hormones for trans and gender diverse patients. 

This course is free, entirely online, self-directed, and takes approximately 3 hours. This training has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Nova Scotia Chapter for 1 Mainpro+ credit.

STBBI Testing & Treatment for 2SLGBTQIA+ Patients

This FREE course is for health professionals who want to better understand the issues around sexually transmitted and blood-borne infection (STBBI) testing and treatment needs of Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual, and other sex, sexual, and gender identities that have been historically marginalized in Canada (2SLGBTQIA+) people. At the conclusion of the course, participants will comprehend appropriate testing schedules for STBBIs, how to treat and follow-up STBBIs in the primary care office, and when it is most appropriate to refer a patient onwards to an Infectious Disease specialist.
